Passed away on February 7, 2011 in Stillwater at the age of 56. Carl was diagnosed in October 2009 with pancreatic Cancer. He worked through his chemotherapy on the custom made bike he named "PrimoTherapy." One of his biggest accomplishments since learning of his Cancer was riding 50 miles in the local PurpleRide, a September 2010 fundraiser for Pancreatic Cancer research. His team raised more than $10,000, topping the list of teams. Carl's pottery was often adorned with the beautiful landscapes he saw on his bike rides, cross country skiing or boating. Carl will be missed by his wife of 21 years, Rebecca; children Britta (Aaron) Conway, Sarah (Mike) Thomas, Andy and Anna; granddaughter Afton; parents Bob and Mary of Crystal; brothers Jim, Steve and Curtis; sisters Barbara Kopietz and Dawn Erickson; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. We give a special thank you to Lakeview Hospital Hospice.
A celebration of Carl's life will be Saturday, 11A.M. with a gathering of family and friends Friday, 5-8 P.M. and also one hour prior to the service at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Memorials are preferred to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosencrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
