Born September 19, 1945 in Albuquerque, NM, Christine was the eldest daughter of Hugh J. Andersen and Jane Krause Andersen (both deceased). Her birth made news as the plane carrying her mother home to Minneapolis from Bakersfield, CA, where her father had been stationed at the end of WWII, made an emergency landing in Albuquerque for her delivery. She was a resident of Grant, MN with her husband, Neal Hoffoss. Preceded in death by her sister, Carol Andersen.

In addition to her husband, Neal, she is survived by sister, Sarah Andersen (Chris Hayner), children Stephen Wolfson, Lisa Copeland (Jordan), and Jacob Wolfson (Allison), 6 grandsons: Safford and Hunter Wolfson, Caleb, Henry and Aidan Copeland, and Xavier Wolfson, and many extended family members and friends.

Christine grew up in Bayport, MN, graduated from Stillwater High School, attended Carleton College in Northfield, MN and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in NYC. Christine spent more than 30 years on the east coast, living in New York and New Jersey with previous husbands Philip Wolfson and Michael Schneider (deceased).

She was a devoted mother who loved raising her children and she loved to gather people into her home for holidays and meals. Christine loved to cook delicious food and crochet afghans in bright colors. An animal lover, she rode horses in her youth and loved her cats.

Christine lived life on her own terms, had an amazing sense of humor and gave back to the community in many ways. Her friendship and support helped many individuals improve their own lives and the lives of others. She was a La Leche Leader, advocate for social justice and supporter of many organizations both personally and as a director of the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation.

Her family invites friends who knew Christine to celebrate her life at an open house on Saturday, April 30 from 2 - 5 p.m. at 10281 Hadley Avenue N. in Grant, MN. Memorials to the American Lung Association or organization of your choice are encouraged.
