David Wilson

d. October 20, 2017

Our dad and friend was born on September 25, 1950 in Detroit, MI to Alfred and Effie Wilson. He was the seventh son of a seventh son and aptly named David Elis Wilson. At an age so young that his mother had to sign the paperwork, he joined the United States Army, where he would complete two tours in Vietnam. He met the beautiful love of his life, Pamela June Tanner on his return. They fell in love and were married. True to the vows they took, he was by her side until her death in May of 1999. He continued on his journey, being the best dad we could have asked for and helping others in whatever way he could. Even with his gentle manner, he was the one person you could always depend on to tell it like it was when you needed it the most. He gave you the strength to do the right thing even when it was the most difficult. He was not to be made a fool by anyone, and was well respected because of it. On October 20, he suddenly yet peacefully returned home to Pam's loving arms. It so comforts us to know that they are together again without illness or pain. We know that she greeted him with the "Welcome Home" he always longed for. He is survived by his daughter, Tonya (Serenna) Wilson, son, Danny Tanner, granddaughter, Samantha Deuel, and more friends than we can count from the North End Rice Street neighborhood.
