On January 26, 2009, Donald Fredrick Clark died of lung cancer at his home in New Richmond, Wisconsin, surrounded by his loving family.



Don was born September 4, 1925, in Lima, Ohio. He is survived by his wife Wavalene R.(Pyles), his three children, Rodney (Lori), Jeffrey (Ann), and Melissa (Joe)Kalik, seven grandchildren, Todd, Jason, Colin, Kami, Timothy, Donald, and Alison,and four great grandchildren, Riley, Lauren, Sienna, and Mikayla. He is also survived by his sisters Doris Schneider and Mary (Bob) Preston, and his brother, Patrick (Penny) Clark. Don is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Arthur and Edna Caroline (Schlosser), his brothers Roger and Jim, his sisters Naomi Smith and Mildred Alspaugh, and his great granddaughter Mila Kalik.



Don graduated from Alger High School in 1943. He served in the US Army in World War II, seeing duty in the Philippines and Japan. In 1947 Don married Wavalene Pyles from Waynesfield, where he and Wava started their family. Don had a distinguished career as a federal civil servant, which he began at the Lima Tank Plant. He moved his family to the Detroit, MI, area in 1958 where he worked for many years as a Management Analyst at the Tank Automotive Command. From 1976 to 1977, Don was back at the Lima facility, but this time as the highest-ranking civilian employee. He finished his career back in Michigan, retiring in 1981.



After retirement, Don and Wava built a house in Huntsville, Ohio, and bought a place in Ellenton, Florida, and they alternated their summers and winters between the two homes. In 2002, they sold both of those homes and made their new home in New Richmond, WI, to be closer to their children.



Memorial Services were held at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center in Stillwater,
