Walmann, Donald M.
One of the world's really good guys, Donald M. Walmann, died at age 82 on April 18, 2012. Starting in his teenage years, Don worked for Crane Pharmacy in south Minneapolis. Later, when working for the Hennepin County Court System, Don attended night school at the University of Minnesota, gaining a B.S. in Business in 1981. He was promoted to Sr. Court Deputy with the county, completing 22 years of service before retiring. Don was a devoted and active member of Christ Church Lutheran, singing in the choir and also serving as a liturgist during services. He became renowned for the Sunday morning treats he prepared for his fellow congregants. Facebook comment by nephew Dan Byhre: "Uncle Don was a good man with an incredible heart, always early to family gatherings with something he prepared, eager to help, and interested in everyone there. He'll be missed by many." Don was preceded in death by son, Timothy, and brother, Irving. He is survived by Marvel Byhre Walmann, his wife of 51 years; son, Steven of Camarillo, CA, daughter-in-law, Linda Walmann; four step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and sister, Grace (husband, Orville Crosby).
