WWII Vet

Ed's parents, Anson W. and Clara Callen, were pioneers during the early homesteading days in So Dakota where Ed was born in a sod hut on the So Dakota prairie on August 9, 1916. Ed lettered in basketball and graduated from Dupree High School. After serving in WWII, Ed managed several rural electrical cooperatives in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Colorado. His management skills took him to Ketchican and Sitka, Alaska. Ed and his wife, Jane, became pioneers of Alaska after spending 30 plus years working,

hunting and fishing in paradise. Ed died on April 8, 2008.



Preceded in death by his brothers Vaughn, Arthur and Leonard. Survived by Jane, his loving wife and dancing/hunting/fishing partner of 69 years; sons Donald (Karen) and Dick (Sandy); grandchildren Dawn (Jerry), David, Jennifer, Katie and Sarah (Wil); great grandson Gabriel; brothers Joseph (Betty) and Marion (Ethel); sister-in-law Bernice (Jay); many nephews and nieces.



Visitation Thursday, April 10 from 6 to 8 pm, Bradshaw Funeral Home, 4600 Greenhaven Dr, at Hwy 96, (1 miles W of Hwy 35E) White Bear, MN. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 11 at 2:00 pm, Presbyterian Homes of No Oaks, 5919 Centerville Rd, No Oaks, MN. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
