Age 87, of Waverly Gardens in North Oaks. Passed away June 25, 2015. Predeceased by parents; sister, Nancy; brother, Hawley; and son, Curtis. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Ruth; daughter, Polly (Robb) LaChappelle; grandsons, Curtis, Jackson, and Joel; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Born and raised in Bristol, CT. Graduate of Bristol High School 1945. Enlisted in the US Navy June 1945. Graduate of WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) 1950 with BSME. Worked for Associated Spring Corp. (now Barnes Group, Inc.) for 40 years in 5 different locations: Bristol, CT; Mattoon, IL; Dayton, OH; Plymouth, MI; and Livonia, MI. After residing in Plymouth, MI for 42 years, Ruth and Ed moved to be closer to Polly and her family. Ed enjoyed golf in his younger years, gardening, traveling, watching Big 10 football and basketball and his grandsons' activities. Memorial service to be held Thursday, July 9 at 12:00 noon with a visitation at 11:00AM at Waverly Gardens, 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks. Interment in Bristol, CT at a later date. Memorials preferred to Presbyterian Homes Foundation for Waverly Gardens Chaplaincy Endowment Fund (5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks 55127), Regions Hospital Cancer Care Center (640 Jackson St, St. Paul 55101), or donor's choice.
