Helen Wright

Helen Marie Wright, a resident of Sholom Home East, and from 1989 until November of 2009, a resident of Becketwood, 4300 West River Parkway in Minneapolis. She was born July 8, 1905 in Red Lake Falls, MN. The youngest of 7 daughters born to Danish immigrants Georgiana (Christensen) and Hans Christian Hansen. Her father died when she was just three years old. The family moved to Crookston, MN in 1916 when she was elven years old. She completed high school in Crookston, MN and in 1927 married Floyd F. Wright. They lived in Crookston, Wadena, Montevideo and St. Cloud, Minnesota before moving to St. Paul in 1934 where they lived until 1987 when they moved to Becketwood. Floyd preceded her in death in 1993, after 65 years of happy marriage. She was also preceded in death by six sisters; Olga Jepson of Owatonna, MN, Eleanor Richardson, Myrtle, Edith, Alice and Inez Hansen, all of Minneapolis. She is survived by daughter, Janet Neel (James) of Reading, PA, and son, Donald Wright (Sharon) of Tesuque, NM; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Helen will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always saw the positive side of life, had a wonderful sense of humor and was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
