Henrietta was born on May 16, 1934 at the family farm north east of Mott, North Dakota to Frank and Rosa (Berger) Senn. She was the fifth born in a family of eight children. She attended rural school in Highland Township and finished elementary education at Saint Placidus Catholic Church in her family's rural parish. After high school, she entered St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1954. She began work in the OB Department at St. Joseph's Hospital where she served for 36 years

She married James Nistler, the love of her life, on August 22, 1956 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dickinson, ND. They raised their eight children in Dickinson, educating them in the Catholic school system. In July 1990 Jim and Henrietta became part of a team of missionaries that went to Kenya East Africa to establish a mission sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Bismarck. They served there until June 1999. In 2000 they were assigned co-directors of the African Missions. They held many seminars, presentations, and slideshows on their memorable experiences and the focus of the mission. During that time they were also appointed administrators of the Sacred Heart Parish in Wilton, ND where they served for 10 years until retirement in July 2010.

In September 2010, they moved to Waverly Gardens North Oaks, MN where they joined and served at St. Genevieve Catholic Church.

Jim and Henrietta enjoyed their travels and visited many different countries, relatives and places of interest. She also enjoyed cooking, baking for family and friends, quilting, sewing, needle work, reading and playing many different card games. She served on various church councils, school boards as well as serving on the Resident Council at Waverly Gardens where they lived.

Henrietta treasured family time and gatherings. Jim and Henrietta were blessed with eight children, 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband Jim; seven daughters, Jaylene (Kevin) Kovash, Dickinson ND, Janel (Barry) Schalkle, Woodbury MN, Connie (Richard) Dooley, Clearfield UT, Nancy Watkins, White Bear Lake MN, Laurie (Jim) Schneibel, Lakeville MN, Mary (Mark) Mallus, McLeanVA, Peggy (Todd) Mayer, Dickinson ND; one son, Ted (Deb) Nistler, Vadnais Heights MN.

Grandchildren, Brent, Erin, Ali, Tory, Laura, Alicia, Jessica, Clair, Jackson, Kristina, Kari, Zoe, Nicole, Alexander, Joe, Sara, Maggie, Keely and Abbie.

Henrietta is preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and Frank Senn; brothers, Don, Frank, Norbert, Leroy, Finian; sister, Rose; and granddaughter, Katelyn

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to African Mission of the Bismarck Diocese or St. Genevieve food shelf project in Centerville MN.
