Irene Bunz

Irene passed away at Linden Healthcare Center on July 16, 2006. She was born on February 12, 1927 in Alton, Iowa to Evert and Anne Roelfson. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sister, Joan; brother-in-law, Bill Oldencamp. She is survived by a son, David (Srey); daughter, Karen; sisters, Shirley (Art) Hanson, Evelyn Oldencamp; brother-in-law, Bill Vande Brake; sister-in-law, Ruth (Marv) Tucker. Irene was raised in Alton, Iowa, where she graduated from Alton Public High School in 1945. She graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa in 1947. Later she obtained her teaching degree in Elementary Education from Westman College in Le Mars, Iowa. She was a grade school teacher in Iowa for many years. Irene was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active in women?s work at the church. Her hobbies were playing bridge, calligraphy, reading and cooking. A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Thursday, July 20, 4-8 PM at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co. Rd. 5) Stillwater. Private family interment.
