Isabelle Brown

Isabelle Lina Mercereau Brown passed away on the morning of February 3, 2008, at the age of 101. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Elwin Merrill Brown. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Leonard Boche; her four granddaughters, Laurie Boche, Susan (Michael Smallpage) Boche, Janet (Ray ) Krause and Robyn ( Thomas Tjerlund) Boche; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren and William Tjerlund, Nicholas and Nora Krause, Steven and Alexandra Smallpage. She is also survived and loved by her nieces and nephews and her many friends, including those who cared for her lovingly at St. Anthony Health Center.



Isabelle was born in Osseo, Wisconsin, on April 4, 1906. She grew up in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and spent some summers homesteading with her mother in Montana. She married Elwin in 1931, and settled in the Twin Cities until Elwin joined the ministry of the United Methodist Church. Isabelle was very involved in her family and in her churches, including teaching crafts, organizing events, and playing the piano. Isabelle was always full of life. She believed that you should only think about good things and ignore the bad.



Memorial service on Thursday, February 7, at 1 PM at CENTENNIAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1524 W. County Road C2, Roseville, MN, (651) 633-7644. Refreshments and visitation with the family immediately following. Memorials welcomed to the American Lung Association of Minnesota.
