Passed away among family and friends at his home listening to his Hawaiian music. Jim suffered a massive stroke while at home the morning of 4/12 (opening day of the golf season). He worked at Keller GC for 30 years and 26 years for Ramsey County Parks at Aldrich Arena. Resident of White Bear and springtime resident of Maui. He loved warm weather and having guests over for swimming & BBQ. Preceded in death by parents Marvin Thomas & Lucille Mary Purcell. Survived by beloved wife, Jane (Dahl) married 35 years; daughter, Jessica (Patrick) Gunderson, son Benjamin; step mom, Rita; sisters, Kathy (Jim) Valento, Dee Dee (Gary) Callies, Brothers, Tom, Dick (Amy) and Mike; granddaughters, Oriana, Lula Kai. Memorial service Aloha 7pm Friday, June 17th at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 4600 Greenhaven Drive at Highway 96 (one mile west of Hwy 35E), White Bear with a gathering of friends and family from 4 to 8 PM. Hawaiian attire is welcome. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Jim's grandchildren's college fund.
