Passed away peacefully on August 6, 2009 holding her husband's hand and gazing into his eye; after a year-long determined and courageous battle with cancer. Survived by husband of 34 years Mike; sons Chris (29) and Tim (27); grandchildren Addison (7), Aiden (5) and Anthony (1); mother and father Marcella and Allen Okerman; sister Judy, and brother Jerry; sister-in-law Nancy; daughter-in-law Amy (and possible daughter-in-law Cameron!); nieces Amy, Anne, and Kirsten and nephews Alex, Andrew and Aric; many more distant relatives; and many, many dear friends. Vocation: Community Programs Specialist at Stillwater's FamilyMeans; Children Are People Support Groups (where she won a WCCO Good Neighbor Award); Early Childhood & Family Education; St Croix Valley Youth Service Bureau; and Children's Home Society. Play: Boundary Waters Canoe Area Elder Hostel guide; coach for the Stillwater Area High School's Nordic ski beginner girls group. Service Sunday, August 16, 3:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Visitation Saturday, August 15 from 3:00-6:00 P.M. and also one hour prior to the service. Baby sitting offered.
