Age 91 of White Bear Lake, died peacefully in his sleep on Oct 25, 2014, entering into the loving embrace of Jesus, who is our hope. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by loving wife, Marilyn; children Bob, Barry (Pam), Bambi, Barb (Miles), Blake (Eve), and Beth; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Born Sep 10, 1923 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Served in World War II as a Chief Pharmacist's Mate (USN) in the Pacific Theater. John worked 33 years at American Hoist in St. Paul. During retirement, he served regularly at Habitat for Humanity, Car Care Ministries, and Mission Jamaica. John was a gifted woodworker and eager fisherman who could fix anything. He will be missed. The family wishes to express its gratitude to Teresa Kuronen, whose loving care made it possible for us to keep him at home until the end. Service Thursday 11:00 AM at ST. ANDREW'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 900 Stillwater Rd, Mahtomedi, with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church for "Habitat for Humanity" "Men's Ministry" and "Mission Jamaica".
