Josephine Hicks

Hicks, Josephine Wilson Died on June 21, 2009, less than a month after celebrating her 90th birthday with family at her beloved lake cabin. Josephine was born in 1919, in Nebraska. She graduated from Iowa State College in 1941, then married Ellis Hicks in 1946. They lived all their married life of 53 years in Ames, Iowa, where she was an active Episcopalian, volunteer, bridge player and mother of a daughter born in 1951. After Ellis' retirement, they owned and operated Joselle's Antiques together for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband and niece. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Hicks Carter (Chuck); grandsons, Andy and Ian; great-grandson, Jackson; nephew, George Wilson and many great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held June 28 at 8 a.m. at SAINT MARY'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 1895 Laurel @ Howell, Saint Paul. A second service will be held on July 10 also at SAINT MARY'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH.
