June Henrietta Olson (nAC.e Casterton), 87, died Jan. 29, 2015, in Stillwater, MN, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Highland Township, Iowa, and attended country school in Winneshiek County. After graduating high school, she taught school in the Iowa Normal program. In 1946 she married Leonard Olson. After Leonard's discharge from the Navy, the couple moved to Philadelphia. In 1953 June and Leonard moved to Minnesota, and June worked for 31 years at the Andrews Hotel in Minneapolis. June enjoyed boating and travel with her husband.
Survivors include loving husband of 69 years, Leonard; two daughters, Carol (David) Olmon of White Bear Lake, and Lois Brink of Oakdale; four grandchildren, Demian (Carolyn) Brink of Richmond, VA, Stephanie (Scott) Krischuk of New Brighton, Tait (Liesel) Brink of Missoula, MT, and Kirstin (Kelly) Phillips of Flagstaff, AZ; two great-grandsons, Zachary and Joshua Brink; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Marron; one sister, Belva Fadness, and two brothers, James and Bernard Casterton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josiah and Augusta Casterton; three sisters, Edna Swenson, Palma Wermager, and Myrtle Noecker; and two brothers, James and Lawrence Casterton.
Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorial service at 1 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 5, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 490 N. 4th Street, Bayport, MN. Memorials preferred to Good Samaritan Society, 1119 Owens St. N., Stillwater, MN 55082.
