Anderson, Kathryn R.
Lifelong resident of Edina and Rush City, passed away peacefully the morning of May 5th after a brief illness. She was 82.
A graduate of Edina High, Miss Edina 1953, and a student at the U of M until the sudden death of her father in 1955, when she and brother Herb became co-owners of Strite-Anderson Mfg. Co.
Kathryn was the first woman selected to be Minnesota's 'Small Businessman of the Year' in 1970.
A master gardener, gourmet cook, baker, oil painter, Kathryn loved to knit and sew, and entertain at her lake home. Predeceased by father Herbert O. Anderson, Sr., mother Ruth, brother Herbert O. Anderson, Jr. Survived by sister-in-law, Betty Anderson, niece, Linda Jeske (Michael), nephews Herb, Mark, Bill and Steven Anderson and their families; many cousins, good friends and her cat, Lily.
