Leo was born December 6, 1920 in Meckling, SD. He was a World War II Veteran. He married Alice Lawrence on July 11, 1946. They moved to Red Wing in 1963. Leo and Alice owned and operated Leo?s Burnside Market until 1979. They then retired to travel and spend time with their family.

Survived by 2 daughters and 2 sons; Garry of Rimrock, AZ; Lynn of Menomonie, WI; Cathy (Don) Averbeck of Hugo, MN; Douglas (Susan) of Red Wing, MN. He has 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Don (Tess) of SD; Lois Nelson of CA, Maxine Burrell of SD, Carol Nuss of NE, Marian Zambon of SD, Ronald of CA, Russell (Kaye) of IA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceeded in death by his loving wife Alice, 2 sons, Billy and James, 1 granddaughter Dorian Ahrendt and sisters, Clara Burrell and Dorothy Bruce.
