Lois Karlen

A Memorial Service for Lois A. Karlen, age 93, of Stillwater, will be held on Friday, August 20, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 North Fourth Street. Gathering will follow the service at church. Interment will be private. Lois died Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Stillwater Good Samaritan Center. She was born to Carl Ernest Bloom and Amanda Louise (Jackson) Bloom on January 12, 1911. Lois has been a lifelong resident of Stillwater and a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was Miss Stillwater in 1934 when she was 22. Lois was married to Harold Kenneth Karlen; and the two of them traveled in the first years of their marriage until their daughter, Mary, was born. Lois was a homemaker for much of her life, however, she did work for a period of time at Farmers & Merchants Bank in Stillwater. Preceded in death by husband, Harold; parents, Carl & Amanda Bloom; and siblings, Irving Bloom & Winnie Fleming. Survived by daughter, Mary (Ken) Dennis; grandson, Scott (Kimberly) Dennis; and great-grandchildren, Hannah & Natalie Dennis. Memorials preferred to Trinity Parish Nursing.
