Martin Sogge

d. November 3, 2014

Age 90. Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away gently in his sleep on November 3rd, 2014.
Survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Dolores (nee Mackay); two sons, Dave (Leslie) and Phil (Cecile); three grandchildren, Jessica Biddle (David), Justin (fiancAC.e Nicole Suss) and Lucas; a great grandson, Beau; many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Louis and Mathilda; his siblings, Jim, Irvin, Carl, Margaret, Bob and Charles. Martin was born on December 19th, 1923 at his parents' farmstead home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. The majority of his 40+year career as an electrician was spent at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. He was a proud life-long member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Martin's family vacations took him across the USA, and to Canada, England and Norway. He created many stained glass and woodcarving works of art that his family and friends are blessed to own. He lived to hold and play with his great grandson, Beau Biddle, and the two guys shared many giggles. Martin's wry sense of humor lives on in his sons. Many thanks to the staff of The Villa - Benedictine Health Center at Innsbruck for their wonderful care.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 7th at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi, MN; Friends and family are invited to gather one hour before the 11AM service. Luncheon will be served following the service. Memorials may be given in Martin's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
