Passed away on Saturday June 6th in Minneapolis, MN. He was born August 30th 1937 near Steele, ND to Peter and Bertha (Hensen) Sampson. He graduated from Steele High School in 1957 and joined the Navy where he got his education on electric motors. After his discharge from the Navy he worked on a farm near Parkers Prairie, MN where he met and married Loretta Freudenberg. He worked at Electric Machinery at Central Ave, Minneapolis, MN for about 30 years. They lived in South Minneapolis all their married life. Palmer lived there for about 47 years. Palmer loved playing lead guitar, the band he most played in was call The Country Sunshine Boys. He also liked to play checkers and chess, go fishing, golfing and watching bowling on TV and going bowling with his wife on a couples league at Stardust Bowling Lanes in Minneapolis. He also enjoyed going and watching the Twins games and having a cold one. He is survived by son Michael, of Lakeville, MN, sister Lucille Biss of Elbow Lake, MN, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Loretta, half-brother Harry P. Sampson, step sister Lilly Ensz and sons Daniel and Troy.
Visitation Friday 5-8PM at BRADSHAW (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave. So.
Service Saturday 2PM with visitation starting at 1:30PM at LAKEWOOD CEMETERY CHAPEL, 3600 Hennepin Ave. So. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
