Nieters (nee Bollum),
Pamela Ruth
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and faithful friend to many.
Of White Bear Lake, MN passed away on June 29, 2014 at the age 67 after a brief but very brave battle with cancer and a subsequent stroke. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Norma Bollum. Survived by her husband Ben Nieters of White Bear Lake, MN; daughter Heather Stadtherr of White Bear Lake, MN; son Ryan Nieters (Amber Krahmer) of New Richmond, WI; grandchildren Ella and Maxwell Stadtherr; brother Craig (Kari) Bollum; brother Steve (Barb) Bollum; sister-in-law Sally (Jim) Michaelson; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Pam grew up in South Saint Paul, MN. She graduated from South Saint Paul High School in 1965 and received her teaching degree from the University of MN in 1970. She taught middle school English for 10 years in Cottage Grove and Woodbury before making the decision to be a stay-at-home mom to her two young children. She was a kind, loving, selfless and devoted mother. As her children grew up she also spent time working at Macy's (Dayton's, Marshall Fields) where she met many friends, including her dear friend Judy.
Pam loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was an accomplished pianist and flutist and loved to listen to music. Many described her as graceful and elegant but down to earth at the same time. She was generous to all who knew her and would do anything to help a friend or family member in need. She loved to travel and spent much time exploring Europe with her husband when they lived in France in the early 80's. More recently, her favorite place to visit was the ocean and she took many trips to Florida. She also loved playing cards, specifically bridge, and met many lifelong friends in her bridge groups. She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending as much time as possible in her beautiful gardens. Over the past 7 years, Pam spent much of her time as a devoted grandmother and caregiver to her precious grandchildren. Pam touched the lives of so many people and will be dearly missed. It is difficult for many of us to imagine life without her.
