Raymond Buechner

d. October 28, 2013

Age 93 of Shoreview
Passed away on October 28, 2013
Preceded in death by grandson, William Richard Buechner.
Survived by loving wife of 68 years, Wilhelmina Yurich Buechner; children William J. (Sharon), Mary Joy Winkels (Michael) and Elena Dorr (Gary); grandchildren Elena Rogers (Richard), Teresa Christenson (Eric), Angela Easterwood (David), Christopher Winkels (Shannon), Raymond Winkels (Taissa), Michael Winkels, Christina Dorr and Elena Dorr (fiancAC. Bartosz Zienda); 10 great grandchildren; and cousin John Buechner. Raymond was a WWII Veteran in the US Coast Guard and a member of the Rosetown American Legion Post 542. In the beginning of WWII, he enlisted in the Coast Guard and was initially assigned to a small boat unit that guided merchant ships and warships from all over the world safely into NY harbor. He was later assigned to Shore Patrol. Raymond was a 36 year employee of Northwestern Bell. Ray was a selfless, loving, strong willed person who seemed to have friends everywhere he went. He was quick to laugh and drew people in with his observational humor and wit. He lived a full life with many passions, including: boating, skiing, traveling, cars and being with his family. He loved his loving wife Willie and found every opportunity to tell her that. They spent his final moments together at home, in her arms, with a smile on his face...exactly where he wanted to be.
