Richard Garbe

Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandpa, age 70, died on October 11, 2018, at home in International Falls, MN, of pancreatic cancer.
Dick was born March 27, 1948, to Iva and Dick Garbe in Stillwater, MN. He spent his growing up years on the St Croix River and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1966. He attended Stout State University and later worked in the Twin Cities Area in electrical sales. In 1972 he married Robin Rivard and together they raised 3 children in Scandia, MN. They bought Northernaire Houseboats of Rainy Lake in 1998 and have operated the resort ever since. Dick loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Iva Garbe. He dearly loved his family and is survived by his wife, Robin, and children, Betsy (Joe) Meres, Casey (Jeni) Garbe, and Alison Fischbach; 9 grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, Noah and Fraya Meres, Wyatt, Waylon and Marley Garbe, and Anthony and Josephine Fischbach. Visitation 10:00 AM, Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Friday, October 26, with luncheon to follow at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater, MN.
