Age 92. Roland passed away peacefully on February 28, 2011 with family at his side. His presence and his love will be missed by Gloria, his beloved wife of 43 years, devoted step-daughters: Linda (Steve) Aasen, Susan (Jay) Hoffman, Roxanne (Dan) Murray, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Roland is also survived by three children from a previous marriage: Virginia (Charles) Thomas, Susan (Larry) DeMarchi, James (Sandy) Lund, granddaughter Carolyn Avaire and two great-grandchildren Jori and Saffron Avaire. Roland grew up in the mid-west and moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1967 with his wife Gloria. In 2002, they returned to Minnesota (Woodbury) to be near family. A memorial service commemorating Roland's life will be held Friday, March 4, 10:00am at Lutheran Church of Peace, 47 S. Century Avenue, Maplewood. Family will receive friends following the service at church. Memorials preferred to Lutheran Church of Peace.
