Passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born in Hanska, MN to Edward and Marie Thompson. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Earl; sisters. Myra Hickey, Jeanette Lindberg, and Ina Wallin Smith. Survived by wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Herzog Thompson; children, Ronald (Debra) , Roger (friend, Cheryl Wolff), and Richard (friend, Regina Weber); grandchildren, Emily (Chad) Folstad, Elizabeth "Becky" (Christofer) Manteuffel, Charles Thompson, Jonathan (Theresa) Thompson, Ryan (Brenna) Thompson, Troy Thompson, and Chad Thompson; great-grandchildren, Samuel and Cecelia Manteuffel, Helena Folstad; many other relatives and friends. WWII veteran, 35 year 3M employee, traveler, sportsman, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Visitation Thursday, 6:30-8:30 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater, as well as one hour prior to the service at church. Service Friday, 10:00 A.M. at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 6201 Osgood Avenue North, Stillwater. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to North Star Scouting, Salvation Army, or Red Cross.
