Hummel, Sandra L.
Age 65, of Minneapolis, passed away on September 12, 2008. Preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Elsie. Survived by siblings, Barbara (Lyle) Nordquist, William (Opal) Hummel, Harriet Schmitz, Mary Lou (Ray) Schmitz, Robert (Judy) Hummel; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Sandra retired from the University of Minnesota, IT Dept in 2008 after 35 years. She was an avid traveler who enjoyed seeing the country via the Amtrack Railways, having traveled 185,000 miles on Amtrak. Sandra also loved attending ice shows, the theatre and numerous long walks throughout her neighborhood. Special thanks to many neighbors who helped Sandra through many difficult days during her illness, including but not limited to the McCoy's and Paul Schatzlein; and to the caring and devoted staff of NC Little Hospice in Edina and Fairview Hospice.
Visitation and a time of sharing will be held from 3-5 PM on Sunday at BRADSHAW (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave. S. Service will continue on Wednesday at 11 AM, with visitation 1 hour prior to service, at JONES PEARSON FUNERAL HOME in Park Rapids, MN. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society or NC Little Hospice.
