She married Chuck in 1952 and thereafter the couple made their home in the St. Paul area, most recently at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks. In the 1960s she was an active participant at Parkview United Church of Christ in White Bear Lake, serving as a deaconess and superintendent of the church school among other offices. She was one of the founding members of the Lawyers Wives of Minnesota and served as an early president. She was a ?stay-at-home-mom? and loved the work. She enjoyed packing school lunches with surprises, making Halloween costumes and Christmas stockings. She taught her girls how to cook, sew and knit and taught her son how to make fried egg sandwiches. She volunteered as a Campfire leader. She loved to garden and watch things grow, especially her grandchildren. She taught them how to find four leaf clovers and find pretty stones. She was the first to see the blue birds in the spring and she heard them sing before anyone else. She gave support and encouragement to her husband, Chuck, in his career and other community activities.
