Gray, Walter H. Age 97, of Minneapolis, MN. Passed away at Freedom Pointe, Minnetonka, on Thursday 3/28/2013; where he lived in assisted living since 2007. Born in Kelvington Saskatchewan, Canada. He was a great fisherman, with most of his fishing done at Lake Minnetonka. Has countless fishing trophies and awards with six fish mounted up on walls. He could have been a professional in many fields; including artist, fisherman, or bowler. He loved people and knew how to make everyone have a good time.
Wally served in WWII 1943-1945. Invasion of Normandy, France, Belgium, Berlin, Battle of the Bulge, and D-Day. He saw Generals Eisenhower, and Patton; received three overseas bars, good conduct medal, and a Lapel button. He was a painter and decorator, for over 40 years. Married Lorraine Swanson in Vancouver, Washington 1942. They were introduced by his sister Pearl. He also loved cars, animals, movies, sports, dancing, singing, and playing his harmonica.
Preceded in death by wife of 61 years, Lorraine Swanson Gray, son John, parents Leroy and Freda, sister Pearl, brothers Neal, Clayton, and Willy. Survived by 4 children; Suzanne Borg, Larry, Vicki, and Steve. Grandchildren Tatiana (Jeff), Trevor, Trisha, and Dustin, great grandson Xavier, and many nephews and nieces.

Service Monday, 12 noon at BRADSHAW (McDivitt- Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Ave S. Visitation starting at 10 A.M. until the time of service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery
