Betty J. Allickson
Born July 24, 1928 floated on the wings of love, with her granddaughter Erin by her side to go rest high on that mountain April 13, 2014. She was born Betty J. Buseman in Pipestone, MN. She graduated from Montevideo High School. She met and married Barney Allickson, together they were blessed with 4 children, Tom, Mike, Helen and Deb. Their last years together they lived in Lake Elmo, MN where in 1979 Barney passed away. After that she traveled to several different locations, one of which was New Mexico to see the largest gathering of Hot Air Balloons. She loved being with her family, hunting, fishing or whatever they chose to do. Her all-time favorite holiday is the 4th of July, with Christmas the second in line. She went back to school in 1982. She trained in computers and went to work for the American Red Cross until retirement.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Henry Buseman, her husband of 31 years, Barney, her son Mike and many other beloved family and friends. She is survived by children, Tom Sr. & Karen Allickson of Stillwater, MN, Helen Marie & Gene Lunsford of Monroe, NC and Deb & Dick Sachs of Lake Elmo, MN; grandchildren, Tom Jr. & Jason Allickson, Erin Lunsford & Gene Horrigan, Richard Jr. (Laura) & Barney (Mandy) Sachs; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, George of NC, William (Donna) Buseman of Montevideo; sister, Joanne Jorgenson of Montevideo; and 2 sisters-in-law. We will forever miss her smile, her laugh and her asking "So anything new and exciting?". Rest well mom. You are forever in our hearts.
