Coleen Schmid

Coleen Marie Schmid, 57, of Blaine, passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

Born September 25th, 1964 in St. Paul, Coleen was a spirited and decisive person who had a warm and loving heart. She had many friends growing up and she enjoyed every role she took on in her life, including sister, friend, wife, mother, and grandmother. She married her loving husband of 37 years, Robert, on January 14th, 1984. Together they raised two children in Blaine, close to family. Coleen worked at United Stores as both an employee and store manager until 1996 when she decided to stay home with her kids.

Coleen loved her kids and family more than anything and spent the rest of her life caring for them as well as her grandchildren. She was extremely animated and created wonderful memories for her family as they all enjoyed spending time with her. Her favorite things were walking through Como Park, listening to music, and playing games. Coleen was a strong person with empathy for everyone.

Coleen will be deeply missed by her husband of 37 years, Robert; children, Amanda (Forrest) Olinger and David (Kristina) Schmid; grandchildren, Nora, Miles, and Fox; mother, Gwen (Steven) Holets and father, Clint Smith; sisters, Christine (Rob) Anstett and Catherine (Todd) Nodes; and other family and friends.

Memorial Gathering will be Thursday, December 9 from 2-5pm with memory sharing at 3:30pm at Bradshaw Funeral and Cremation Services, 4600 Greenhaven Dr., White Bear. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Como Park Zoo & Conservatory.
