Born on December 31, 1923, and peacefully passed on October 30, 2019.
Survived by husband of 73 years, John Robert Nyberg; sons Tim (Julie) Nyberg, Dan (Marina) Nyberg; daughter Kristan (Chris) Bennett; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister Joy Sheppard.
Preceded in passing by her parents Aaron and Allie (Nee Erikson) Swanberg; and sister Audre Stevens.
Dorothy and John were married on December 16, 1946 in Denver, CO. They built their home in Shoreview, MN, in 1952, where they lived until moving to assisted living in 2014.
Dorothy loved to cook for people. Please direct gifts in her name to St. Timothy Lutheran Church. All gifts will be designated to support local ministries that fight poverty and hunger: The Sheridan Story, Feed My Starving Children, and Loaves and Fishes.
Memorial Service 11 AM on November 12, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1465 Victoria St. N., St. Paul.
