James Trevis

d. September 11, 2015

Trevis, Jim (aka "Brandman")
Died suddenly at home from an apparent heart attack on September 11, 2015. He was 65. There are not enough words to do Jim Trevis justice. He was a novelist, communications expert, screenwriter, and photographer a" a creative powerhouse. He was a humorist, lover of movies and music, lover of nature, tireless worker, gardener, and cook. Jim always had a caring heart for those in need. He loved to help people, make them laugh, mentor them, and encourage them to remember what's important in life. He was famous for his photo "roasts," a favorite way for him to lovingly honor others in ways that were poignant and serious but also funny and entertaining. Most of all, and most importantly to Jim and to all who knew him, he was a beloved husband, father, son, sibling, and friend. For Chris, his wife of 43 years, he was her soul mate, best friend, counselor, advisor, and forgiver of all errors, small and large. To those who knew and loved him, Jim's death leaves a void that is too large to comprehend. Preceded in death by parents Marie and Walter Trevis. Survived by wife Chris Trevis, daughter Laura (Trevis) Mobley and her husband Jordan Mobley, and son Michael Trevis. Also siblings Bob (Marce) Trevis, Gary (Cheryl) Trevis, Janine (Wayne) Dahmes, Wally (Carolyn) Trevis, Diane Trevis, Ed Trevis, and Marilyn (Mike) Sauer and countless cousins and friends. Memorial service to be held at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, on Sunday, September 20. Welcoming guests 4-6pm, celebration of life 6-7pm, light supper and sharing of stories 7-9pm. Memorials preferred to Canvas Health, www.canvashealth.org.
