Obituary

James "Jim" Patrick Quinn passed away peacefully in his home on June 21, 2021 at the age of 67 after a brief hard fought battle with cancer. Preceded in death by mother Lorraine, father Niles, sister Marilyn, and brothers Leonard, Niles, Leo, Daniel and Matthew Quinn. Survived by loving wife Kim, daughter Jackie (David) Carpenter and his grandchildren who were the rays of sunshine in his life Lucy, Calvin and Peter; 2 brothers, 4 sisters; many nieces, nephews & loved ones.

Jim loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father, his sweetheart Kim and daughter Jackie. He especially loved spoiling his grandkids and cuddling with them on his recliner as they all piled on him to read books.

As a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Jim served in various callings. He was a primary teacher, scout leader, Bishopric counselor, ward mission leader and an ever faithful home teacher. He loved teaching others Gospel truths and loved continually learning from the faith and examples of others.

Jim retired after 34 years of service from Fort Snelling National Cemetery as an interment supervisor. Jim continued to work afterwards at the Home Depot these last 15 years where he started in the paint department, sold credit cards and home services and lately worked in the doors/windows department. He loved his work family.

Jim was a true Patriot and loved his Country, flag and the Constitution. He stood for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He understood and would educate any who would listen about the freedoms and privileges we often take for granted.
