Jane M. Backe

Age 93, of Stillwater, passed peacefully November 23, 2021.  Preceded in death by husband, Glen; parents, Oscar and Vera Swanson of Sandstone, MN; siblings, Ralph Swanson, Sr. (Almeda), Arthur Swanson (Anne) and Doris Nass (Bernard). Loving mother of Steve (Pam) and Nan (Rick); loving grandmother of Nichole (Brett) and Natalie (Landon).  Also survived by sister-in-law Loella Nass, many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Jane graduated from Sandstone High School in 1947.  After high school, she moved to Stillwater and was employed at NSP where she met her husband, Glen.  They married 10/28/1950.  Jane was a homemaker while raising her children.  In her later years, Jane worked as a church secretary at Calvary Assembly of God in Stillwater.  Jane will always be remembered for her lifelong devotion to God and her generous heart.  She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active in the Martha Circle.  Jane was an avid reader, an animal lover, loved shopping and going out to eat and car rides.  Most of all, Jane enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be Monday, December 27, 2021, 10:00 A.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Private interment Fairview Cemetery.
