Jiavanna Yescas-Manjarrez

d. April 15, 2020

Jiavanna Beatriz Yescas-Manjarrez (Jia Almeroth) was carried to Jesus’ arms on April 15, 2020 at the age of 4 years, 5 months. Jia was a happy, spirited little girl who brought light and joy to everyone she met. Jia lived with the restriction of a rare genetic disorder, Microvillus Inclusion Disease, but she did not let that prevent her from living life to the fullest. Jia loved to go on walks, play at the playground, play with the family dog, and watch movies. She was especially social, and her favorite outing was to go shopping at stores or the mall and say “Hi!” to everyone she met. Playing games on the iPad was another favorite activity. She also loved every minute that she could spend with her family.

Jiavanna received wonderful, loving care at home from her beloved nurses - Kim, Jen, and Leslee (from 1st Choice Pediatric Home Care) - and Sarah and others from Children’s Home Care. Jia’s family is also grateful to Children’s Home Care Pharmacy, Partners in Pediatrics, MNGI, and Children’s Minnesota (Minneapolis) for the compassionate and excellent care they provided Jia throughout her life. Jia attended Antioch Community Church in Minneapolis, King’s Kids Preschool in New Brighton, Moore Than Dance classes in Fridley, and Awana Cubbies at Salem Covenant in New Brighton. She loved all her teachers and friends in these classes.

Jia is much loved by her parents, Phil & Kim Almeroth; siblings Aaron (Ellie), Evan (Emma), and Olya; cousins Laura, Kendall, Payton, and Reese; Grandpa Jim & Grandma Carol, and many more extended family members and friends.

We Love You Jia! Until we meet again, rest with Jesus.

Memorials preferred to Bethany Christian Services (bethany.org/locations/us/Minnesota/Plymouth) or Ronald McDonald House (rmhtwincities.org).

Phil and Kim invite you to join them for a Celebration of Life service on Sunday April 26th at 4:00 p.m. It will be on Antioch Community Church’s Facebook page, facebook.com/antiochcommunitymn, as well as www.antiochcommunity.org/jia.
