Lake Elmo, Minnesota

Nathan William Prigge

Age 19, of Lake Elmo, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He bravely battled osteosarcoma, resulting from Li-Fraumeni Syndrome, for the past three years.

Nate was born September 1, 2002, in Maplewood, MN. He graduated from Stillwater Area High School with honors in 2021 and was excited to pursue his love of engineering at Bethel University. Sadly, this was not to be.

During his three-year cancer battle, he endured countless treatments, surgeries, and hospital stays but always kept his big smile and positive spirit. His strong faith and love for Jesus grounded him. He exhibited more fight, grit, and grace than we’ve ever known. Nate believed it was important to share his story to raise awareness for childhood cancer. He was honored to be named 2020 Ambassador for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, advocating for the advancement of pediatric cancer research to increase survival rates for other kids facing a similar diagnosis.

He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, the need to share random “fun facts” dug up from the depths of the internet, his love of music and playing the guitar, and a lifelong search for the world’s best burger. He loved hiking with his Dad, sharing a questionable sense of humor with his Mom, and late night video games with friends. Most of all, he loved his sisters.

Nathan will be deeply missed by his loving parents, Mike and Robin Prigge; his beloved sisters, El and Ahna; his devoted dogs, Ruby and Kona; grandparents Roger and Nancy Prigge, Oakdale, MN; Priscilla Koehn, Green Bay, WI; uncles and aunts Phil (Essie) Prigge, Buckeye, AZ; Jeff (Monica) Koehn, Marshfield, WI; Cheryl (Brad) Davis, Grayslake, IL; Rocky (Katie) Koehn, Arden Hills, MN; many cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his grandfather, Truman Koehn.

Special thank you to his amazing team of doctors and nurses at the University of Minnesota Fairview, especially Dr Emily Greengard and Jill Lee, CPNP-AC, who loved our boy like their own. Also to everyone who walked this journey with us over the last three years.
