JOHNSON

Richard Leland “Dick”

Of White Bear Lake, MN

Born on March 23, 1936; died on November 29, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, C. Ray and Vi Johnson; and son, Eric Johnson. Survived by wife, Virginia, of 61 years; son, Stuart (Kay); granddaughter, Alyssa; grandsons, Kelsey (Julie), and Spencer Johnson; great granddaughter, Quinn; sister, Marilyn (Fred) Bolton. Dick was born in Morris, MN but grew up in Brookings, SD. He graduated from South Dakota State University with an engineering degree and moved to White Bear Lake in 1958. He enlisted in the Army in 1960 and worked for the Defense Division of Sperry Corporation for 40 years. Dick served on many boards, sang in church choirs, loved card games, golf, and enjoyed fishing trips to Canada. Dick was a faithful Christian and loved helping people, especially with Habitat for Humanity and Mission Slovakia. After a long illness with Alzheimer’s disease, he is at peace with his Lord and Savior. Special love and thanks to Ecumen Hospice for their care. Celebration of life will be Monday, December 6th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior in the sanctuary at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Andrew’s Church Music Department.
