Richard Van Nelson

Age 68 of Mahtomedi

Loving Father and Grandfather passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2021. Richard proudly served in the Army in Vietnam. He was a local business owner for Van Nelson Construction. Outside of work, Richard was an avid fisherman. He also was the greatest handyman. He would build furniture and create inventions of his own.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Priscilla and Dudley; brother, Mark; aunt, Leone Stallman; four-legged best bud, Tigger.

He is survived by his daughters, Lana (Arturo) Gonzalez, Wilemina Nelson; grandchildren, Michael, Lilliana, Analisa, Alexandra, Sophia; siblings, Jon (Sharon) Nelson, Lana Rodriguez, Carol Szulim, Bill (Pat) Nelson; many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be 3PM Friday, February 26th at Bradshaw, 4600 Greenhaven Dr., White Bear.
