Troy Schally

Troy Thomas Schally, age 50, of Roseville, MN passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on November 14, 2021.

Troy was preceded in death by his son, Henry Aaron; grandparents, Rudolph and Hilda Schally and Norbert and Josephine Tuerk; parents-in-law, Jerry and Becky Tuttle; and best friend, Aaron Dunwoody.

Troy was born on February 11, 1971, in St. Louis Park, MN. He spent his early childhood in New Hope, MN before moving to North St. Paul where he lived through his high school years. Troy graduated from Hill Murray High School and initially attended Century College. He completed his degree in business administration and computer science at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Business Management.

Troy’s entire career was spent in the field of computer science, working his way up from network administrator to software developer to team lead and finally department manager. He held positions at Axiom Marketing Communications followed by Alternative Resources and then United Health Care. Troy ended his career working for 20+ years at Reliastar/ING/VOYA, where he excelled personally and professionally.

Troy enjoyed music and going to concerts – mainly to hear local bands at smaller venues or outdoor festivals. He loved spending his fall Saturdays with friends watching MN Gopher football, being a season ticket holder for over 20 years. Ski-U-Mah! Troy was most in his element when he could be outside – doing everything from boating, jet skiing and water skiing to camping and hiking to downhill snow skiing and snowmobiling. And he trained for and ran in 6 marathons, qualifying for the Boston Marathon twice. His endurance and energy knew no bounds.

Troy was a loving and fun dad to his 2 sons, who were his proudest accomplishments in life! He was devoted to his family. Troy was an all-around great guy who was always willing to lend a hand, talk sports or politics, give computer advice or just share a beer.

Troy is survived by his wife, Jennifer; son, Eli Frederick; parents, Ronald and JoAnn Schally; brother Wade and his wife Tanya Schally; sisters and brothers-in-law, Erica and Tyler Messerole, Rachel and Bruce Eckenrod, Mark and Kim Tuttle, Heidi and Tom Todd; nephews and nieces, Sam Schally, Kelsey and Joe Messerole, Kiley, Kalen and Emileigh Eckenrod, Tracie and Jessica Tuttle and Paige, Ben and Jack Todd; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate Troy’s life will be held on November 20, 2021 at 2pm with a visitation starting at 12pm at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center at 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, MN 55082. Please bring your favorite story to share over cocktails and lunch following a short service.
