Age 41, of Maplewood, passed away peacefully on January 13 with his wife and his mom by his side. He is survived by his loving wife, Monette; parents, Ted and Lynn Natus; and sisters, Christi (Gerry) Finken, Brenda Hocum, Amy Kissner (Jim Hawkins), Theresa (Chris) Sierakowski; mother-in-law, Sandy Moorman; and sister-in-law, Eileen (Tom) Copiskey; and many nieces and nephews.
Troy was born and raised in Roseville, MN and was a 1998 graduate of Roseville High School. After graduating, Troy joined the family business full time, Hamernicks Interior Solutions on Rice Street. Troy worked side by side with his dad for 26 years and worked tirelessly to become Vice President of the company. He married his best friend, Monette, in October 2013 and, together, started their family of fur babies.
Troy was Prince of the North Wind in 2010 and remained active in the St. Paul Winter Carnival and Titan organization. In 2015, Troy and his mom Lynn opened Mama T’s Castle Tap together. Troy touched more lives than we’ll ever know. He was a kind and gentle giant that always had time and a smile for all. He was the most compassionate friend and always had a way of making you feel loved and truly special. He was the most sympathetic, caring, and humblest of men that always went out of his way to show his love for others. Though he battled through years of health issues and had his own mountains to climb, he never complained or failed to put others ahead of himself; he simply guided and accepted others along on their own journeys with his zest for life and courageous spirit. His hug could heal a broken spirit and it did for so many. We were blessed with 18 more years with Troy after he received the gift of life through a heart transplant at Mayo Clinic in early 2004. We are forever grateful.
