Age 84, of Stillwater. Surrounded by family, Albert died peacefully, Mon April 4, 2011. Preceded in death by parents, Elisabeth and Albert, Sr.; sister, Dorothy Lewerer. Survived by devoted wife of 60 years, Ruth; sons, Grant (Francesca Janis), Karl (Michelle Nickeson), and Eric (Lisa). Loving grandfather of Lily, Emmett, and Nathan and dear brother-in-law to Grace Hendrickson. After serving in the Army Air Corp, he graduated from Macalester College and St Paul College of Law. As a 50 year member of the Minnesota State Bar, Albert served as assistant district attorney for both Washington and Ramsey Counties and later founded Ranum Law Offices in Stillwater, MN. Always active in both civic and charitable organizations throughout his community, Albert helped charter Stillwater Boy Scout Troop #249 and served as chair for the La Croix District of the Indianhead Council, Boy Scouts of America. He was a founder and charter board member of the Graffiti Teen Center and worked as local administrator for the Salvation Army Emergency Fund for over 20 years. Albert was associated with the Tozer Foundation, an education scholarship foundation for more than 40 years and served as Scholarship Secretary for more than 30 years. As a 50 year member of the Stillwater Lion's Club Albert served as an officer, board member, and was a top membership recruiter. Dedicated to his faith, Albert was a 40 year member of the House of Hope Presbyterian Church serving as both deacon and elder. Later in his life, Albert was a dedicated participant in the Mayo Clinic's Alzheimer Disease Research. Please join the family in a celebration of Albert's life on Tuesday April 12th, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 6201 Osgood Ave N. Stillwater. Interment Fairview Cemetery. Visitation Monday April 11th, 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater, and also 1 hour prior to service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Stillwater Noon Lions or First Presbyterian Church, Stillwater.
