Alice M. (Thomsen) Powell

Alice passed away August 31, 2014 after a long
illness. Born October 6, 1927 in Stillwater, the youngest of 6 children, to Axel and Matilda Thomsen, Alice graduated from Stillwater High School in 1945. Married Stephen Powell April 16, 1951 in Seattle WA, where Stephen was stationed with the US Coast Guard. When Stephen was discharged from the service in 1954 they returned to Stillwater. In 1986 Alice and Stephen realized their dream of living on a lake, moving to Siren, WI where they lived for 20 years before returning to Stillwater in November 2006.

Alice is preceded in death by husband Stephen, her parents, brothers; Arne, Borge, Snowball and Jim, sister; Lowella Friedrich and several other relatives.

She is survived by children; Jennifer, Stephen (Kate), Mark (Jodie), and Alice Brudzinski (Chris); nine grandchildren, Jason, Bryan, Eric(Melissa), Megan, David (Morna), Sam, Emily, Christopher and Joe;
five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ella, Lila, Nicole and Christine; sisters-in-law, Elaine and Helen Thomson; nieces and nephews.

Alice will be greatly missed by her family but, after several years of declining health, we find comfort knowing that she is reunited with Dad and is at peace with our Heavenly Father.

The family extends a sincere thank you to Croixdale, Good Samaritan and Lakeview Hospice for caring for Mom these past several years.
