Alpha Adkins

Age 82 Passed peacefully on October 5, 2009 with her son Michael by her side. Alpha was loved and adored by all people that met her. She possessed a dignity, a beauty and internal attractiveness that was apparent to all. Born Alpha Averill Ashford on January 15th 1927 in Gladys, Mississippi, to William and Jimmie Ashford. Alpha was a Social Worker and longtime resident of Highland Park. Preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie, both parents, her brother, Irvin Ashford and her sisters, Dorothy Carriere, Herdisenia Wells and Winefred Ashford. Survived by children, Michael, Karen and Gregory Adkins; her nine grandchildren, Aaron, Autumn, Ryann, Rachel, Bethany, Skylar, Salem, Katia and Micah; her brother, William Ashford, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service Saturday, October10th at 12:00 NOON with visitation one hour prior to the service at BRADSHAW, 678 South Snelling at Eleanor. Int.
