TAUER,
Arlene
Age 92
At rest December 28, 2012
From Alzheimer's disease at Ecumen Seasons of Apple Valley, MN, where she received excellent and loving care. Born June 11, 1920, to Edward and Antoinette Murphy, Arlene knew the constancy of family love and the value of hard work, living her life as an excellent example of both. Married June 20, 1942 to Irving Tauer, she was a lifelong resident of St. Paul - raising her family and operating the Arc-Ivy restaurant, which she owned with her husband for 20+ years. She was a kind and diligent mother, an excellent cook, a fastidious homemaker and a helpmate to Irving, her true love of 61 years, before his passing in 2003. Arlene was also preceded in death by her parents and her beloved late older sister, Dorothy Schadegg. She is survived by her four children, Stephanie (Stuart) Travis, John (Nancy) Tauer, Greg Tauer and Michael Tauer, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. While the person we knew as Arlene left us quite early on in the course of this disease, as we remember her, we reminisce on the earlier years and remember her at her best. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, January 28, at 10:30 A.M. at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church.
