Dear wife of Oliver; mother of Joan Phillips (James), Carol Politis (Theodore) and James Nelson; stepmother of Hisham Moen (Rebayah); grandmother of Laura, Peter, Sophia, Suraya, Aishah and Aznah. Preceded in death by parents, Sophie and Warner Backer, and first husband, Milton Nelson. Lifelong resident of Minneapolis/Mendota Heights/Eagan. Secretary, Roosevelt Class of January '42 and officer of it's reunion committee. Shared the joy of her piano, organ, and accordion playing in services, programs, and gatherings all her life, including as a longtime volunteer at Ebenezer/Ridges. Service 2:00PM Saturday, August 30, at HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH 2730 E. 31st St., Mpls., preceded by visitation from 1:00-2:00PM. Reception following service at Bradshaw 3131 Minnehaha Ave So. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials appreciated in lieu of flowers, to the recipient of your choice.
