Age 82
Passed away peacefully on November 7, 2007.Born March 23, 1925 in Blair, Nebraska to Judge and Mrs. H.J. Madsen. Don was one of 10 children. He worked on the tow boats on the Missouri River and later got his Captain?s license. At age 22, Don was skipper of the 87 foot yacht, Patsea. He and Miriam met at Sunnyside Marina and were later married in Nashville, TN on Feb. 6, 1948. They cruised the Gulf Coast and Florida waterways for 2 years aboard the Patsea. Upon returning to Stillwater, don was employed by Anderson Corporation for 29 years. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Don was skipper of the historical Anderson yacht, the Glengarry for 28 years. He retired from Baywood Corporation in 1987. In retirement he enjoyed his family, boating, and golfing. Don was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 57 years.
Survived by loving wife of 59 years, Miriam; son, Mark
(Michele); daughter, Maren Rosas; 5 grandchildren, Aaron, Drew, Ben, Tiera, and Dan; brothers, Murl and Bob; sisters, Hattie and Lois; sister-in-law, Harriett. Service Monday 11AM at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH 115 N. 4th St., Stillwater. Interment Oakland Cemetery, Marine St. Croix. Visitation Sunday 3-6 PM at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Hwy 5) and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials welcomed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Stillwater Veterans Memorial.
