Born : November 18, 1921, passed away: April 17, 2008. Born in Algona, Iowa. Preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth W. Stevens; son, George H. Stevens, and great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rose Stevens. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Larry (Mary) Stevens of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Susan (Terry) Napper of Buffalo, MN and Vicki (Bill) Bartl of Bermuda Dunes, CA. She has 13 grandchildren: Charmon, Todd, Cheryl, Beth, Max, Cole, Sara, Joe, Rebecca, Carly, Camey, Chane and Caleb; 5 step-grandchildren as well as 18 great-grandchildren. Evelyn attended Mankato Business College in Mankota, MN and worked as a secretary during WWII. She enjoyed writing short stories about her life in Iowa and Minnesota. She also played the piano, and the drums. She enjoyed doing watercolor painting and other types of art work. She was a member of King of Grace Lutheran Church in Golden Valley,MN. Service Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 11:00AM at KING OF GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH 6000 Duluth Street, Golden Valley. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
