Age 78, of Mpls. Died at Presbyterian Homes of Spring Park on Sept 6, 2014. Born Dec. 3, 1935 in Minneapolis to Verner & Evangeline Franson. Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mike Franson, who was an "All City Athlete" from South High School. Gary is survived by his loving sisters, Vernelle Varno of Mpls and Darlene Brandt of Albert Lea; his brother, Dick Franson, retired Mpls 12th Ward Alderman; his daughter, Colleen Franson of California; 12 nieces and nephews; other relatives & friends. Gary grew up in Mpls & attended Madison, Phillips & Central H.S. (1953). He served in the US Army for 6 years & was employed by the City of Mpls for 31 years. Dick Franson thanks Kelley Brandt & Kay Hagen, Kevin Brandt, Kim & Jim Bennewitz & The Presbyterian Homes of Spring Park for giving Gary care & love.
Funeral Service Saturday, Sept 13, 2014, 2:00 PM at BRADSHAW, 3131 Minnehaha Ave S, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Monday, Sept 15, 10:45 AM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area #2.
