Jessie passed away peacefully on August 1st with her loving family at her bedside.
She is survived by her devoted husband, the love of her life, Arnie whom she married 58 years ago, her two children, Betsy (Duey) Erlienand Rob Bockstruck, her adored three grandchildren,Tayler and Chase Bockstruck and Kelsey Erlien, sister, Betsy (Frank) Ulf and family andher sister-in-law, Clarissa Cole.Preceded in death by parents, Edithand Robert Roberts.
Jessie was born in San Francisco on March 2, 1926 and moved with her parents and sister to Beverly Hills, Ca in 1940. She graduated from USC. Jessie met Arnie in Hawaii while he was serving as an officer in the Navy.They returned to Beverly Hills and were married on June 26,1953.After completing his military service, Arnie and Jessie movedto St. Paul where Arnie joined his father in the family business, Bockstruck Jewelers. Jessie was welcomed and embraced by her new community of friends and later joined Junior League and P.E.O.
Jessie loved life: singing, family gatherings, winters in Indian Wells, CA and socializing with all ofher friends.She had a strong faith in God and was the spiritual leader of her family. Her death will be a great loss for all who knew, loved and admired her.
A special thanks: Dr. James Giefer, St. Joseph's Hospital nurses and her wonderful in-home caregivers Paulette Lewis and Nancy Adair.
A memorial service and celebration of Jessie's life will be held on Monday, August 22 at 2:00 P.M. at THE HOUSE OF HOPE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 797 Summit Avenue, St. Paul with a reception following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.E.O. Chapter AB or a charity of your choice.
